The plus size debate has been going on for awhile it seems with Target. Last year all the plus size sections suddenly, and without explanation, disappeared for months. When pressed Target said they were revamping and bringing new things in. But when it came back it didn’t really deliver anything new, different or a variety of anything.
Target is known for amazing designer collaborations and Lilly Pulitzer is the first designer collab to offer a plus size range (only sold online). Target is finally listening to the plus size ladies of fashion and have collaborated with three bloggers to offer a new line at Target stores called Ava & Viv with sizes ranging from 14-26. One of the bloggers chosen to help with the collab was a blogger known for bashing Target and creating a boycott against them after they failed to deliver any sizes over 16 with the Altuzarra launch. It looks like their beef was squashed and they could come together to create something amazing for the curvy girl. I love the concept of a store collaborating with a blogger. The bloggers are US — all of us. They represent real women in real time. I hope to see more stores turn to bloggers for style inspiration. I think it will offer a fresh take on what women like and what we don’t like.
There looks to be about 100 pieces being offered in this new line. Here is a peek of what is being offered when they launch Feb 22nd.
I LOVE that this is happening! The line is so fabulous too! 🙂
