Essie Fall 2015 Nail Polish Line

It’s over 100 degrees every day here in Texas. I’m loving beach days but I am ready for fall, my FAVORITE season. It’s almost time for “pumpkin everything”! I’m missing my dark nail polishes, so it was exciting to see the new Fall 2015 Essie Collection. When is it available? Now! Ulta has the entire collection available online and if you spend $17 on nail polish you get a free top coat! I went on a nail polish spending freeze about 8 months ago (well, I did buy maybe one bottle but that doesn’t count) in order to clear out and actually use what I already have. Essie is my favorite polish brand, so at least 70% is all Essie. I’ve cleared out a good dozen bottles of polish over this time so I have room for new ones.

I’m liking “Leggy Legend” which is a copper/gold depending on how it hits the light. I also like “in the lobby” which is a purple that looks a little matte. And “bell-bottom blues” is a really pretty shiny blue tone.

Lilly for Target + Essie Nail Polish

Have you seen the new (I mean old) line of nail polishes by Essie that were released as “Lilly inspired” shades to match the clothing. Before you run out to ebay (who knew they were the third partner in the Lilly for Target collaboration) and spend double, please know that these are NOT new shades based on Lilly Pulitzer prints but old colors with a “Lilly for Target” paper tag attached to the bottle. Did they think no one would notice? I’ve had Borrowed and Blue for a good two years. And Golden Nuggets I bought a few months ago on clearance at Ulta for I believe $3. I feel like people are being taken advantage of with this whole Lilly + Target collaboration. essieI would NOT suggest going to Poshmark or ebay and buying these nail polishes that are listed between $14 and $20 each. It would have been fun if they would have had a real selection of Lilly Pulitzer polishes. Or if they wanted to use old colors then maybe a cool Lilly printed bottle. But if you want those colors, just go to Essie.com and type in the names and they are listed as “in stock” and buyable for $8.50 each minus the Lilly for Target paper tag. I just tested that out on the Essie website. And if you really like blue, I suggest Bikini So Teeny by Essie. It’s a beautiful light blue, and in my opinion, better than Borrowed & Blue. Here are a list of the colors that you can shop for on Essie that were part of the collaboration: Forget Me Not Mesmerized Borrowed & Blue Golden Nuggets Pansey Baby’s Breathe First Timer

DIY – How to make your own nail tape

I’ve been seeing a lot of nail art involving nail tape strips, but they can be a little pricey, especially if you want more then one color and size. So here is a tutorial on making your own nail tape! The process of making it is super easy. It’s a little tricky cutting and sticking it but nothing that would be too hard at mastering. I think my next attempt will be a lot quicker. Overall, I love it and it gives me a little more options in creating nail art looks. So here are the steps:

June’s Glossybox

Oh how I love my monthly glossybox! I swear it’s like a monthly gift to myself that I don’t know what’s coming. I gently unwrap it, and get giddy excited over what it may contain. Truth be told I’ve never been let down. I’ve had other monthly beauty box subscriptions and maybe they started out okay but eventually just kept getting more and more let down. Why would anyone get excited over a pen, gum, or toothpaste in a beauty box?! Not Glossybox. High end beauty box samples on large size samples to full size?! Yes, please! I love it. I’m totally addicted and I’m never let down. Every month is a gift to myself and I believe we deserve those little surprises in life. So this is my June Glossybox and a little nail art that I did from the nail polish that was included. And, oh my god, love the nail polish! I could totally use these colors separately and I will. Very nice application and great colors! Glossybox has turned me on to Sumita. They’ve had eyeliners in their boxes before and I’m totally addicted. This box included a highlighter/eyeshadow/eyeliner pencil. Loved it! Soft golden glow, almost perfect for anyone. This month you also received a C Wonder gift certificate worth $5-500!! Love! The Rusk texturing spray is amazing and a great large sample size. If you’ve never tried Glossybox or wanna give them a shot, heres the link: http://www.glossybox.com/referal?CI=NDEzMzg=

Sunday Brunch Outfit

I’m slightly addicted to my Gigi New York Uber Clutch. I absolutely adore it! And any chance I can to build an outfit around it, I jump at. I decided to do a play on red, white and blue for a Sunday Brunch honoring a dear friend’s upcoming wedding. This lace peplum is absolutely lovely. I feel so girly in it. It is from Lily & Violet which is a small online boutique with some really feminine and flirty pieces. I think red/white/blue is a great summer trend that extends beyond just 4th of July. It really is a beautiful color combination. Necklace and cardigan are by JCrew.
